Southern Alberta guided Fly Fishing

Oldman River Outfitters would love to be your fly fishing guide to show you the best fly fishing around Calgary. Southern Alberta is considered by many to have the best fly fishing in Alberta and Western Canada. Our home base is situated in Fort Macleod Alberta. We are well situated on the banks of the Oldman River and within an hour of all the prime fishing in the area. Fly fishing south of Calgary, or west of Lethbridge, the Oldman River watershed has many holes and spectacular scenery. Its tributaries, including the Crowsnest River, Castle River, Livingstone River, Racehorse Creek, Dutch Creek, and Daisy Creek that all produce tremendous fly fishing opportunities and draw travellers from across the world.

We are within an hour of the Waterton River and it is considered simply the most scenic float you could experience. A Brown Trout fishery with the best fishing June and July when it can be accessed with drift boats. Heading south we fish the St Marys river, a spectacular trophy river!

From joining one of our fly fishing guides on a drift boat on the Oldman River, Waterton or St Marys River, to guided walk and wade fly fishing in any of the Southern Alberta mountain streams your day will be an adventure. Oldman River Outfitters will tailor the guided fly fishing trip to the client’s needs. From simple day trips to multi-day adventures, or corporate and group trips, we will work with you and build the perfect itinerary.
