FULL DAY FLOAT
Fishing the Oldman River, Waterton, is best done in one of our Hyde Drift or Boulder Boatworks Drift Boats allowing us to access places you can’t cast to from shore! We also use Streamtech Rafts to run different sections of the St Marys, Waterton, and the middle Oldman River (water level dependent). We will coordinate a meeting point to get you to the launch and we use shuttle drivers to the downstream take-out point. Full Day Rate is $749 Canadian for 1-2 anglers. Not including gratuities for your guide. Waterton River rates $849 Canadian for 1-2 anglers.
WALK AND WADE
The Upper sections of the Oldman River and the tributaries streams such as Racehorse Creek, Livingston, Dutch Creek, Vicary Creek, or the streams such as the West and South Castle are walk and wade streams. Our crew will get you to the riverside and spend the day enjoying the adventure with you. Depending on your desires there are numerous great locations we can access. Some will require more walking than others, however, we will work with the clients to design the day that meets their needs, These areas are all true wilderness adventures and we are likely to see wildlife! Some of the best holes are right beneath some classic Southern Alberta Big Horn Sheep ranges and if we are just lucky enough we may get to see a band of Rams. We can’t wait to share these areas with travellers to Alberta. A full day walk and wade trip is $749 Canadian for 1-2 anglers. Each additional angler is $350 Canadian. Not including gratuities for your guide.
HALF DAY
Depending on your schedule we do offer half-day trips for either a float on the Tailwater of the Oldman River or walk and wade. Pick your time, early morning or evening float and we would be glad to show you some great fishing. These trips would not include lunch, A half-day float or walk and wade trip is $549 Canadian for 1-2 anglers. Not including gratuities for your guide.
WHAT YOUR TRIP INCLUDES
Fly fishing rates include guide service for 1 or 2 anglers for approximately 8-10 hours for a full day or 4-5 hours for half days from pick up to drop off, Pick up and transportation to and from the river or meeting location, shore lunch, flies, leader, tippet, rods, reels, and non-alcoholic drinks.
If you have any special allergies or food preferences, please let us know before the trip so we can prepare accordingly.
Please ensure you have an Alberta Fishing Licence. You can purchase your license at https://www.albertarelm.com/licensing.page or many sporting goods or fly shops in Alberta.
Depending on your accommodations, specific streams may require additional transportation or pick up costs. Please inquire with the Outfitter when booking. Waders and Wading boots will be supplied if needed.
YOUR OWN GEAR
*Many anglers prefer to bring their own rods, reels, and equipment and we encourage them to do so. Our equipment, including our flies can just supplement what you have! Once July hits we will often wet wade in shorts and wading boots particularly on the lower sections of the Oldman River and Bow River. The middle and upper Oldman River the water is substantially cooler and waders are used more often.
SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT LIST
Please ensure you are prepared for all weather conditions by bringing a raincoat, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray. We recommend glasses of some form even if the day is overcast or evening has settled in. For your safety you can’t fish without glasses! The sun on the river at times can be strong and we recommend long sleeve shirts to avoid sunburn. We do have recommended fly shops if you are looking for recommendations. Southern Alberta has many great backcountry fishing areas. Be mindful we are in bear country in some of the areas we fish, and we suggest you should bring and wear bear spray. You can discuss this with the outfitter at booking time.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE MEET?
Depending on the time of the fishing season, weather, fishing conditions, river selection, our recommendations, and your plans, the meet time will be determined. We will be in contact at least 24-hours before out trip to ensure we have all of these details worked out! This is your trip and we want to ensure we work with what works for you as well!
BOOKING POLICY
30% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the booking date(s) & balance is due on pick up the first morning of the trip. We Credit card deposits will require an additional 3.5% rate. We do not cancel trips dues to weather. Some of the best fishing occurs during or after a mountain rainstorm! We cannot control the fishing and do not guarantee fish! We will however, do our best to ensure your day is a success!
If emergent matters out of your control occur please notify us as soon as possible so we can shift your deposit to another day.
WAIVER
All anglers are required to complete a waiver and ensure a signed copy is handed in the morning of the booking. OROWaiver
